We are looking for seasonal Industrial Sewing Machine Operators, for our Fall 2009 – Spring 2010 season. Sewing tests are conducted year round. Work is usually available in September.
In-House Sewing – Kellé Company seasonal sewing employees work full-time, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., four days a week. Must have prior experience using industrial machines and sewing with lycra.
Contract Sewing – Contractors must sew in their own business or at home on their own industrial machines, no piecework. Currently Kellé Company only uses local contractors. Contractors able to handle large orders, 500 or more garments per week, are encouraged to inquire. We will work with smaller contractors as well.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Sew by sample or catalog photos and interpret basic pattern pieces.
- Skillfully sew on stretchy fabrics such as lycra, spandex, etc.
- Ability to use a 4-thread industrial serge machine, single needle, and cover stitch.
- Ability to follow instructions on job tickets for correct size, thread color, and cutting notches.
- Some knowledge of the English language preferred, but not required.
