For sale: 1985 Chevy Blazer, M1009 Military Surplus. This vehicle came from Tombstone AZ, has never seen snow, knows no rust. 47,000 Actual miles. 6.2 diesel, 2 battery system with glow plugs will start this on the coldest mornings, have converted fuel pump (the stock fuel pump was not the best) includes several spin on filters. Otherwise mostly Stock. Google M1009's to get their complete story, they have 3/4 ton chasis, get 18 - 24 mpg's, durable, dependable. This would make a very good project vehicle, parts are abundant and inexpensive (OEM and cheaper aftermath). Surprisingly few dents/scratches for a 34 year old vehicle. Frame solid, undercarriage rust free. The Cab is military basic, even though I changed out the seats. I did my homework, the best of these surplus Blazers were given to various Civilian Organizations, the worst were thrown on Government auctions for the public. Comes with a set of Chevy 9" x 15" Rally wheels (was going to powder coat and after market chrome kit). Have the front tow hooks (took them off to see about powder coating). Have 7 vehicles, need to thin the herd.
