The draft hasn't been activated in over forty five years. Even if a person were drafted, and I personally think a four stint of military service should be compulsory, there were all kinds of ways around having to enter the military. The point is, that simply because somebody is a veteran, this status should not entitle them to additional benefits above and beyond what the ordinary citizen has access to - particularly access to medical procedures that assist with pain management/nausea. A veteran is no better or worse that the kid that goes to college and becomes a cop, an accountant or an IT professional. All should have equal access to the benefits made possible by the taxpayers of this great nation. Lets stop dredging up circumstances from a half a century ago and work on providing a better future for all Americans in the times in which we live.
